What happens with duplicate requests?

Approving requests

Nothing breaks — duplicates are handled for you. If three guests all request the same song, your streaming playlist still gets a single copy of it when you sync.

In your dashboard the requests stay exactly as they came in, grouped by the guest who made them, so the same track appears under each person who asked for it. That's useful signal rather than clutter: a song several guests have independently asked for is a strong hint about what the room actually wants, and it's visible at a glance without you having to tally anything.

The same song asked for twice stays visible under both names.

The tidying up happens when you sync, and it goes by the actual recording rather than just the words your guests typed. BeatTribe looks each request up on Spotify, Apple Music, or TIDAL and recognises the same recording even when two guests found it in different places — a single, an album version and a greatest-hits release all count as the same song. Syncing more than once is safe too: anything already in the playlist is never added again.
